A Fresh Face

So I have been having a lot of conversations about complexion maintenance and thought this would be a fun post to share skin regimens.  Feel free to comment on your favorite miracle workers, but here is my list.

1.) Clarisonic facial cleansing system; I either use a gentle scrub or (next product)...

3.) Thermal scrub. I am a sucker for the avon skin care products. For the prices I really think they are the best.  I notice instant results with all the anew stuff.  This scrub is a perfect exfoliator to warm-up with as it heats up when you start massaging it into your face.  It provides a deeper cleanse and feels simply amazing.

2.) I realize I am out of order but you don't want to use too many exfoliators so I alternate days....days when I don't use the thermal scrub I use the Avon chemical peel pads.  (About 3 times a week).  THESE ARE MY MIRACLE WORKER! I would DIE without them.  Within seconds of using this peel, my skin looks brand new and naturally shiny.  This is truly a product with instant results.

4.) After exfoliating and putting on this day and night serum my skin looks pretty flawless and feels velvety to the touch.  Since it's a power skin rejuvenator I need to make sure I follow up with a lot of SPF since anti-aging products make the sun extra deadly.

5.) L'Occitane Angelica Toner (very gentle for after exfoliation and smells divine). Takes away any redness.

6.) L'Occitane Anjelica Sun Shield.  My moisturizer always contains the highest spf possible since the key to healthy skin is preservation.  If you want bronze skin go for healthy alternatives...wrinkly skin is never sexy and it will catch up to you.

7.) If I have any imperfections to hide I just dab on a little erase paste by Benefit.  This magic concealer is shimmery so my whole face still has a natural shine and glow to it.  I oppose any matte or obvious makeup...I prefer the aux naturale look with rich creams and minor touch-ups.

8.) Sugar lip treatment gives my lips a natural dab of color and keeps them soft, healthy, and sun safe all day!

Those are my secret skin tips! On a side note I also take vitamin D and biotin supplements which help make hair, skin, and nails radiant.

What are you beauty secrets?

New Week of Style!

(5 Inch and Up, Fashion Canvas, Sincerely Jules, Wild Bird)

Good Morning World!

Alas, another weekend has come and gone and I find myself struggling to open my eyes and hunker down to the long week of work ahead of me.  Reflecting on the past few days of fun, here is my recap.

Friday evening:  Dinner at my favorite spot, Faccia Luna.  This summer I was fortunate to spot former press secretary Robert Gibbs enjoying some stone oven fired pizza with his son.  (The joys of living in the beltway).

Saturday: Checking out the new Anthropologie that opened on my street. (As if all my time at FreePeople wasn't deadly enough).  The store is gorgeous and did a nice job maintaing the authentic colonial old town charm of the neighborhood.  The fun colors in the store got me excited for spring and definitely have my eyes set on a pair of bright pink jeans.  Next I drove out to rural Maryland to look at an incredible Bianchi racing bike that was in actually in my frame size!  The bike turned out to be the bike of my dreams and my sweet boyfriend helped me purchase it as an early birthday present.

Sunday:  I spent much needed time getting another bag of clothes on to ebay!  Feel free to check out my goodies...Seller: Pageaj16
Sundays I enjoy cooking and whipped one of my favorite vegan dishes... Tofu Marsala and watched a couple delightful episodes of Frasier.

Afternoon Perk Up!

There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.

Good Morning World

I meant to update yesterday, but it was a hectic morning.  How was everyone's weekend?  Mine consisted of Friday night dinner at the Columbia Firehouse near my apartment.  This restaurant embodies much of what I love about living in Old Town.  This historic building was built in 1883 and was once a working firehouse.  Now it is a gorgeous restaurant with chandeliers and lovely old brick.  In spring the courtyard is full of pink cherry blossoms making it the best setting for a nice brunch.

Saturday's freezing rain led to a much drawn out morning of making breakfast, spinning records, and playing scrabble with my love.  Sometimes you need those rainy days inside to improve mental health.  I did eventually leave to go stock up on Trader Joe's goodies and to make some home made sushi.

Sunday was my day to explore.  I went and checked out the national aquarium!  Some highlights included the albino alligator, a nautilus, and a blow fish. Got to love the winter for encouraging some indoor exploration for a change.

Now to begin working and enjoying my venti bold!
